Newcastle
Recorded Music Society was born in July 1949, just a few months after
Aneurin Bevan launched the NHS, just after Ghandi was assassinated and
in the year when Actor Ronald Reagan `earned more than the US President'
!
To
celebrate our 60th anniversary in 2009: JOHN DAVIES, FRMS Chairman starts
us off on January 9th with `APPRECIATION', .....accompanied with a Birthday
cake, drinks, and other celebratory fare...
We
are also supported in our special season by Presenters from nearly all
of the 10 Regional Recorded Music Societies, (The MERCIA MUSIC TOP TEN')
with a galaxy of Chairmen, Secretaries and Programme Secretaries! Many
thanks to them all.
Some speakers are travelling quite a distance, so would you please specially
mark up your diaries?
Again,
more complimentary tickets are attached. Please hawk these around. `Comps'
are irresistible!
Bill
Booth has opted to have his programme moved to December so the opening
slot goes to the Chair-we hope Marjorie will be back with us by then,
but John Hope holds the fort for her.
After the void in volunteers after the AGM, Sheila Baines volunteered
to become Secretary. Many thanks, Sheila.
Graham Lilley offered his services on the Committee where there is still
a place. Any volunteers please?
We
would be delighted to send you a copy of our programme from Gordon
